Managing Procurement - "Outsourcing"
Skills & Technology
Often times personnel issues can become a huge barrier for completing IT projects. Organizations do a great job outsourcing for required skills or machinery from an outside expert. Project managers must plan effectively for such a procurement so that outsourcing is available as an option.
Reduce Costs
Organizations make use of outsourcing for covering labor costs involved with hiring or firing individuals. This also serves as a great strategy for saving rime and completing projects according to their progress timelines.
Focus on Core Business
Outsourcing is a great way for helping companies focus on what distinguishes them from others. Time is money! Instead of using it for providing services to teams in your organization or other, it’s usually more beneficial to let outdoor suppliers handle these tasks for you. It could either be cheaper for your time or spending budget or both.
Flexibility
A greater use of outsourcing for companies is for providing additional personnel to accomplish project objectives, providing flexibility. This type of procurement is usually planned ahead, aiming at times when workloads begin to peak or when personnel seems scarce. Also, it serves as a great way for addressing other areas within companies, speeding up processes.
Accountability
Contracts are used to better clarify project deliverables and responsibilities for both parties involved. Accountability increases for individuals on the basis of what efforts must be made by when according to the contract. These are binding agreements which result in conflict whenever responsibilities aren’t met.
